A registered Occupational Therapist is assigned to support you, carrying out a thorough assessment of your care needs and managing the application process on your behalf.

Comprehensive Consultation Call
This step reviews the information you’ve already provided and gathers any further details needed to complete your application. Your Occupational Therapist will then have everything required to complete the 32-page Attendance Allowance form.
Once finished, the form will be completed and endorsed by your OT, then posted to you by 1st Class Royal Mail within 4 days for your approval, signature, and submission to the DWP.

A Risk Free Outcome
Month 1: The DWP confirms they’ve received your application.
Month 2: The DWP notifies you of the outcome.
Month 3: Any awarded payments are backdated to the date your form was received.
Once you receive your backdated payment, AAS will collect the fee for the Occupational Therapist’s services—this is usually fully covered by your first payment. If your application is unsuccessful, there will be no fee to pay.

Eligibility criteria
Attendance Allowance may apply to you if you need the following.
- Be state pension age or over.
- Require care from another person due to your condition.
- Have health and /or daily functional activities challenged or limited.
- Have needed care for at least six months or more.
- Not be in receipt of PIP or DLA benefits.
